See scan - perfect condition. This is an absolutely rare and scarce Bulgarian Royal 1879 Prince Alexander Batenberg I - 1st ever type of the Merit Order with large wreath, big engraved swords and chain between the center and wreath part. This one is also known as the "CHAIN" type Batenberg Merit order. Comes with original ribbon of issue. This is the first ever issue of the Bulgarian Merit Order with Batenberg and of this exact type sources say that only 26 pieces had ever been awarded. So far we've seen just a couple being offered for sale within the last several years, but this has always stayed at the top of all lists of the Bulgarian decorations rarities. The piece is made out of sterling silver. Absolutely scarce military / militaria collector piece and probably one of the really rarest Bulgarian orders.
