See scan - absolutely perfect and mint intact condition. Comes with original ribbon and special mechanism at back for holding the flag / slogan like silver bar. This is a scarce and extremely rare Imperial Russian and most likely Russian / Russo - Turkish War piece awarded only to members of the Royal Russian Emperor Caucas Guard and escort. The piece is similar as to those special Saint George order crosses as awarded only to members of the White Army WILD DIVISION later during 1917-1920. This piece however is a lot earlier and an extremely rare find not even catalogued in the regular catalogues for russian decorations and medals. This Important St. George cross is without number and class just like the ones that used to be awarded to border troops and Royal Guard. The cross is sterling silver and hallmarked at top of the hook. It also bear a specially attached flying flag or slogan like bar with text FOR PERFECT SERVICE, which is similar to the Perfect Service award badges and cockade that were given to other combatants during the Russian Ottoman Turkey War of 1878 - 1879 during the struggle for freedom of Bulgaria. Similar badges were given for different campaigns, but this is the first time we see a piece made specially for the St. George cross. Extremely scarce and rare militaria / military collector piece and one of the rare Russian orders and crosses decorations. We don't have a good reference for a price indication of a similar piece sold to compare with, but nevertheless made a fair estimate taking in mind the rarity of the item.
