Item description:

See scan – perfect condition. This is an extremely scarce Bulgarian censor cover / postcard sent from the board of the Royal Navy / Marine torpedo Boat / ship NADEJDA from the town of Ottoman Turkish town of Constantinople – now Istanbul. This is an unique usage from the stay of the Bulgarian torpedo boat in the Turkish bay of Constantinople on 16th January 1918. Probably the postcard was relayed through the Bulgarian Military office in Constantinople to its final destination – Sofia. Such postal history covers are almost unique due to that small staff the ships had and also due to the limited time the personnel had to write and send letters. So far there are just a handful of this type of military cachets and cancels known to exist. Most of the Bulgarian NAVY had its combat missions in the Black Sea and fighted over with the Russian Imperial fleet, as well as with Romania. True collector gem and an UNIQUE piece.
